1 Day Jinja Adventure Tour

Overview

If you happen to be in Uganda on short notice, this is a perfect safari for you. This safari takes you to 3 major touristic sites including the beautiful Sezibwa Water falls on River Sezibwa to get an insight into the rich Ugandan Culture and Heritage; trek through the tropical Mabira Forest especially for the bird enthusiasts and proceed for the famous boat cruise to the Source of River Nile.

While at the Source, you will experience the mighty River Nile as it begins its 6700km journey to the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. White Water Rafting on the River Nile can as well be added on this trip upon request.

Itinerary in details

You will be picked from your preferred location whether Entebbe or Kampala as early as 6:00am and Embark on your Journey to Jinja the Adventure Capital. Along the way, we shall make our first stopover at the mighty Sezibwa water falls which is approximately 32km from Kampala Capital City. While at the falls, you will experience hissing sounds of the bubbling River Sezibwa as they drop down to the valley about 7 meters deep. There is a variety of short touristic activities on this site and these include Birding, nature walks, Cultural experiences, Photography as well as hiking on top of the falls themselves.

After the River Sezibwa Excursion, you will proceed with your journey through the beautiful tea plantations, glittering road side food and fruit vendors as well as the endless Sugar cane plantations. The next site to visit on this tour will be the Mabira tropical rain forest. You will be briefed by the site guide and under take some of the numerous walking trails in the forest. While on the trek, your guide will introduce you to the different tree species in the forest, the way of living of the people around the forest, different bird and primate species. The most common primate specie spotted on this trek is the Red Tailed Monkey and the Black and White colubus monkey as well as some lucky sightings of the Ugandan Mangbey on a day of luck.

You will have lunch and then proceed with your journey to the Source of the River Nile for the Boat Trip. This will be the last site to explore on our tour to Jinja the Adventure capital as you get to see the Nile River begin its long journey to Egypt. The Boat trip goes for about 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on your time schedule as your local guide tells you all the facts and history of the River Nile the world’s longest river. While at the source of the Nile still, you will feel the powers of the water separating from Lake Victoria as it runs to the northern direction to meet the Albert Nile in Murchison falls National Park

After your boat trip, embark on your journey back to kampala and depending on the nature of traffic jam in some big towns along the way, this journey might take about 2-4 hours of driving.
