This 4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park safari presents the best of Uganda mountain gorillas in this misty impenetrable forest. You will trek the few remaining species of mountain gorillas twice on different days and different gorilla families. Each trek will offers a period of up to one hour while in their presence but there is a lot to learn about these gorillas.

In addition, you will encounter other eye-catching moments in the forest such as the unique bird species, plant covers among others. On this tour, you will also encounter the Batwa culture who are pygmies, getting best experience through their art and performances, music, dance and drama, story tales among others. Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Pick up from any agreed point in Entebbe or Kampala in the morning and then head to Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park after a delightful breakfast. You will first be briefed by the tour driver guide about the weather of Uganda and this trip at large, to get familiar with the safari program.

The road trip will take about 9 hours but filled with great memories including a stopover at the Uganda equator. This is a point where the Equator crosses Uganda and rewards you with an experiment, photography and souvenir buying. Another stopover will be in Mbarara for lunch which will be a local or traditional dish depending on your choice. Arrive late in the evening and check in for your marvelous accommodation.

Day 2: First gorilla trekking and Batwa community experience (Rushaga sector)

Head to the park offices where trekking endangered mountain gorillas starts and attend briefing with fellow visitors. This will be done after breakfast and will include the dos and don'ts of gorilla trekking experience; including not feeding animals in the forest, don't trek in case you have flu, not making noise while in the wild, no littering in the park and so many other guidelines. Then head into the forest and start a great experience with the help of a park ranger / guide who will be fully armed for protection in case of any attack.

Meet the assigned gorilla family and spend a maximum of one hour in their presence and this will be the best time. You will then head back to the lodge after a period of 3 to 5 hours for your lunch and relaxation.

In the evening, go for another rewarding experience in the Batwa pygmies’ villages. They have a very unique culture, which rewards you with the best of African experience in form of traditional wear/dress code, traditional music, dance and drama, storytelling among others. The day will therefore end after returning at the lodge for a nap and dinner.

Day 3: Second gorilla trekking experience (Nkuringo sector)

This morning, you will drive southwards to Nkuringo sector, one of the most virgin and unspoiled sector in Bwindi impenetrable national park. arrive at the park office for yet another gorilla trekking experience which will begin with a briefing where different aspects will be covered like the dos and don'ts, the information about this particular sector and its inhabitants.

Then head to trek a different gorilla family from the previous one rewarding you with another incredible primate experience. Enjoy their movements, feeding behavior, and the silverback will be practicing its leadership skills. This encounter lasts for an hour while in their presence but the overall experience takes about 2 to 5 hours but this depends on the location of the trekked gorilla family. After, head back to the lodge and relax for the evening or proceed to the scenic Lake Mutanda for a traditional canoe experience and swimming.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala and fly back home

Have breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with another stopover at the equator for lunch and photographic moments. At this point, you can also buy some craft materials like paintings, carvings and beads among others. After, you will be dropped at the airport or any other place agreed upon to mark the end of this 4 Days double gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi national park.
