Itinerary in details

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and take on an afternoon boat cruise

After breakfast, you will be welcomed and briefed by the company driver and later embark on a 240km driving distance to Lake Mburo National Park. 70km into this adventurous journey, we shall break off for a photo moment at the Uganda Equator Monument at Kayabwe town. This photo break will take about 10-20minutes depending on how you love the place and later proceed with our journey to Lake Mburo National Park for an early lunch before we join the boat cruise at 2:00pm.

The boat trip starts at Rwonyo docking site on Lake Mburo and goes for about 2 -3 hours depending on the sightings you find on your cruise. Expect a lot of sightings of different bird species that your guide will help you identify like the African Finfoot, African Fish Eagle, Pied kingfishers among others. You will also spot numerous basking crocodiles and yawning hippos as well.

Right after your experiential Boat cruise, you will take a short evening game drive to increase your wild animal count in Lake Mburo National Park as you head out to your choice of safari lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Distance Covered: 240km drive on a well maintained smooth Tarmac road for about 4 hours.

Day 2: Morning safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park and later transfer back to Kampala

We shall have breakfast as early as 6am, checkout of the lodge and drive to the park gate. You will pick an armed ranger and start your nature walk inside the park. This is another opportunity to encounter African wildlife on foot. You will have close range beautiful pictures of giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, topi, warthogs among other wildlife species. This walk goes for about 2 – 3 hours of extreme nature interpretation.

You will bid farewell to your site guide and we shall embark on our journey back to Kampala or Entebbe and this will mark the end of our amazing 2 days safari to Lake Mburo National Park.
