Have breakfast and start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, south-western Uganda where one of the most interesting wildlife experiences will be enjoyed. This is a whole day’s journey (8-9 hours) and therefore no activities prepared for this day except the en-route stops at Uganda Equator for photography as well as leg stretching, the drive through Lake Mburo National Park with hope of seeing more game species and also the Town of Mbarara for lunch. Have a tasty breakfast and head out for registration as well as briefing at one of Bwindi forest’s four trailheads (Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo or Rushaga) where we meet the team of Ranger guides ready to take us through the briefing process to make us understand what we signed for. You’ll be placed in groups of 8 visitors to trek a habituated gorilla group and at 8:00am embark on the life-changing trek for mountain gorillas in the jungle.
1 to 5 hours will be spent searching for the giant apes and only one hour for observation. Hot lunch is at the lodge and in the evening, we get the chance to visit the Bakiga or Batwa people, where you’ll stroll across their villages to learn about their cultures. After this adventure-filled day, you transfer back to the lodge to rest and have dinner.
